Our Educational 14th Oncology Vendor Fair was held on March 14th @ Radnor Hotel. Wonderful turn out. Thank you to all our vendors and members that made it a success.
20 Members of Penns Wood Chapter are heading to Washington this week for our ONS Congress. Also Penns Wood along with PACON Chapter are receiving the Pearl Moore "Making a Difference" Community award for our work with the Navajo Nation project. Also one of the nurses from the reservation is coming to Congress on the airline ticket that goes with the award.
Next meeting is May 16th

What happening with our Penns Wood Members |

Congress Grants for 2013 from the Chapter were presented @ the March's meeting to Cathy Sargent, Susan Lorah, Pat Frank, Betty Tiger,Ro Tucci, Mary Lou Magnusson, Lynne Quinn. Joy Hepkins are President recieved the yearly President's Grant.
Pat Frank is on the Project Team for the Special Interest Groups for July's Leadership Wekend and also has been named to serve on the SIG Council for 2 years.
Our Awards Chair Pat Frank received a letter from Brian Theil Director, Membership & Component Relations Oncology Nursing Society stating that our c Penns Wood Chapter along with PACON will receive the 2013 Pearl Moore "Making a Difference" Community Award @ opening ceremony of the Congress in Washington, DC on April 25th .
Rosemary Wiggins won the door prize @ the Educational Oncology Fair on March14th . It was a basket from Bed/Bath donated by Mary Cunningham from Biologics.
Posters are being presented @ Congress by Meghann Horst -Symptom Management, Joann Moore -Senior Oncology Program, Sue Zuk and Carolyn Matthias -Pharmacy process Improvement, Ro Tucci, Pat Frank, Peg Rummell-Navajio Nation Project
Sara Hollstein is lecturing on survivorship
Meghann Host and Cindy Maudin bot received a National Congress Grant for 2013
Joann Moore from Paoli Memorial was nominated by Martha Kline to receive the Nursing Spectrum Nurse Excellent. We were informed that she is one of the finalist.

Thank you to all that voted in the chapter elections i, please keep in mind al the benefits you get from your Chapter membership, such as monthly lectures and dinners with CEU, yearly Educational Fair, Grants given for both IOL and Congress, Newsletter, chance to have your certification or membership to both National ONS and the Chapter paid for. Remember we can not continue to offer all these things without members stepping up to the plate and become a member of a committees and running for office in 2012-2013. Ann Marie Gipe our nominating Chair had gone to Leadership weekend and they suggeted doing election via the webShe reported thatthis went well but 69 went out and only 36 returned for a 52% ratio.
Best of ONS would be held May 18, 2013 @ the Philadelphia Airport Hilton.
