Our Educational Oncology Vendor Fair and 15th years cerebration as a chapter was held on March 10th @ Radnor Hotel. Great News - Sandy Lyon won an National ONS Institute of Learning 2010 Grant to attend the conference in Orlando in November. IOL Grants 2010 from the Chapter were given out @ our October's meeting to Susan Lorah, Rosemary Wiggins, Sandy Lyon and Beth Eaby-Sandy. Congress Grants for 2011 from the Chapter were presented @ the March's meeting to Cathy Sargent, Ro Tucci, Susan Lorah, Pat Frank, Carol Grugan, Stephanie Gunderson, Martha Kline, Joy Hepkins and Bernadette Canuso Past Presidents and Charter members were honored by the Chapter @ the 15th Anniversary Cerebation. We are pleased to say 9 of the charter members listed have served on the board during the last 15 years. Installation of Officers and Board was @ October Meeting - thank you gifts were given to all the Board members. Special thank you was given to Mary Turchi who had served multiple years as Nominating Chair. Penns Wood Board (2010-2011)
Alice Veitz - President, Joy Hepkins - President -Elect, Rosemary Wiggins - Treasure, Brenda Eastham - Secretary, Ann Marie Gipe - Nominating Chair, Sandy Lyon - Archives, Elizabeth Tiger - Legislative Chair, Carol Rowan & Carol Grugan- Membership, Joy Hepkins (newsletter) & Pat Frank (web site) Multimedia, Sue Lorah, Lynne Quinn, Sally Maday - Educational Chairs, Pat Frank & Anne Marie Gipe - Fund Raising Chairs, and Pat Frank - Award Chair ONS announced that Penns Woord Virtual Community Page ranks 10th for style, updates and honoring members. Over the past 10 years Consultants in Medical Oncology and Hematology Associates have supported us with a generous grant for our Oncology Educational Fair. The board voted to honor this year to honor the founder of this practice John D. Sprandio, M.D. not only for his support of our chapter but for the support of Oncology Nursing. He encourages and funds all his nurses to take the certification exam and the practice pays dues for both National and local Chapters. In his honor we donated a silver leaf on the tree in the Healing Garden @ Bryn Mawr's new outpatient building in Newtown Square, PA. Dr. Sprqndio was also honored @ our April's 2010 meeting. Thank you to all that voted in the chapter elections in September, please keep in mind al the benefits you get from your Chapter membership, such as monthly lectures and dinners with CEU, yearly Educational Fair, Grants given for both IOL and Congress, Newsletter, chance to have your certification or membership to both National ONS and the Chapter paid for. Remember we can not continue to offer all these things without members stepping up to the plate and become a member of a committees and running for office in 2011 election Best of ONS will be June 4, 2011 @ the Philadelphia Airport Hilton. This year the committee aded 2 new chapters and 1 CHIP to help with the planning. Also ONS EDGE and Amgen will be sponsoring a dinner on June 3rd. Registration information will be available in April.

We like to welcome you to our site. We are a small chapter of close to 100 members and received our chater in 1996. We are cerebrating our 15th year in 2011 as a Chapter. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, we would love for you to join us at one of our meetings or become a member.
